(113): seafaring

“.... It has come as a complete surprise to me that my ancestors had such a colourful, seafaring past.” (From The Times, August 19, 2009: Silver pocket watch found off Welsh coast returned after 130 years)

Adj. [only before noun] connected with work or travel on the sea/ocean
*a seafaring nation (金山译为:以航海为业的民族)
“-faring”对应的是“fare”: (intransitive) to go, travel,“seafaring”自然是“在海上工作、旅行”。
